You have a lot of options when planning your Educational Path. A good education leads you into new territories, arms you with solid skills that will support you for a lifetime, and helps you turn a passion into a career. At the Climate Change Corps, we offer such a path and encourage you to explore the LUV Apprenticeship as an option.
Unlike a traditional 4-year program, graduates of the LUV PILOT Program leave school employed, with no school debts to carry.
USDOL REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
THE LINK BELOW WILL RECORD YOUR MEET & GREET/APPLICATION FOR ENTRANCE INTO THE PROGRAM. THE LUV COMMITTEE REVIEWS THESE TWICE PER WEEK.
IT IS A SHORT MEET AND GREET WITH 5 QUESTIONS SO WE GET TO KNOW YOU A LITTLE BIT. YOU WILL RECORD YOURSELF FOR THIS MEET & GREET WITH OUR AUTOMATED SYSTEM.
YOU WILL RECEIVE TEXTS AND EMAILS WITH FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN LUV!
STEP 1
If you do not have your FAA 107, you will be enrolled in our free test prep course, once your meet & greet is reviewed by our LUV committee.
You begin your journey as a Candidate for the
Licensed Unmanned Vehicle Pilot Certificate.
Complete your meet & greet on the link above to get started.
Once you have taken your FAA 107 exam, (cost of 175.00 at a proctored testing center - you pay the testing center directly), your certificate is verified with the FAA, then you enter the 24 month program.
Step 2
Once your FAA certification is verified, you begin your first 150 hours of online curriculum & certification in our online classroom, then continue onward through the fog to complete 4000 hours, each in sections you complete.
You will have supplemental trainings on your track throughout the 24 month program with additional free certifications and learning in six tracks.
This includes starting your APSA-NIST BPERP Certificate, your Level 1 Thermographer prep, and continue over 24 months in the online classroom with weekly live meetings. (recorded if you can't make it each week)
(APSA BPERP SIMULATION IS A THIRD PARTY FEE AND SEPARATE FROM THE ONLINE CLASSROOM)
STEP 3
Stay with your existing employer, or placement with our network of employers (in most cases).
Choose your supplemental/specialty track
(keep scrolling down).
We try to use automation and systems that make the process easy for you and us.
Similar to an online college or university, we have online curriculum, weekly live meetings, and an automated system to begin this journey together.
Step One
Schedule a meet and greet on the red and blue links at the top of the page. Please check your spam/trash file for auto emails and info.
Stay with your existing employer
Your 4000 hours of online curriculum is on your own time. There are 3 forms we will need from you to stay where you are while taking our program.
You will complete a form with your employer agreeing to enter the 24 month apprenticeship.
Work in our network of partner employers
in order to be placed with an employer, we require three certifications.
The first step if you do not have your FAA 107 is to start there.
Once you have your FAA 107, you enter the 24 month apprenticeship.
NIST/Airborne Public Safety Association
included in 24 month program
Nationally Recognized Certification & Simulation Training for UAS Pilots
Our flight training provides you with our cutting-edge simulator. You will fly over 50 unique missions to learn stick control and how to operate a UAS.
You will need a specific controller and software for the APSA BPERP Certification.
(not included in free online program).
There are 14 drones simulating how different aircrafts navigate real-world environments. The software and USB-connected controller are provided with the course.
You will need a controller, as well as the simulator software program.
You will learn how to collect drone images and turn them into 3D maps, models, and surveys. You will also learn how to determine quantities from the data and share digital 3D as-builts with clients and customers.
The Airborne Public Safety Association, in cooperation with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is pleased to offer a credential in the form of a Certificate to those individuals who successfully complete a Basic Proficiency Evaluation for Remote Pilot (BPERP) flight evaluation in accordance with the NIST Standard Test Methods for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS).
Level 1 Thermography
Level I prep certification course, Basics of Infrared is included in our 24 month online course program.
Thermography.
In this certification preparation course, you’ll learn how infrared make and capture images, how to take accurate
temperature measurements with an infrared camera, and all of the foundational science.
LEVEL I TOPICS INCLUDE:
• The factors that make thermal images look the way they do and influence temperature measurement accuracy. • Inspection technique fundamentals, including safety considerations vital to working around energized equipment. • Infrared image analysis and interpretation techniques. • The basics of infrared science concepts such as emissivity, reflectivity, heat transfer, and the impact of atmosphere. • How to use thermography analysis software and create simple, easy-to-understand reports. • Hands-on exercises that let you get practical experiences of the theoretical concepts taught throughout the week. • Vital application-specific insights for electrical inspections, mechanical reliability maintenance, building envelope, and roof moisture surveys.
Written exam is based on the requirements outlined by ANSI/ASNT CP-105 of the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing.
(3rd party exam is not included)
